Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to inform you that the new e-HR system will officially come into operation with effect from today, with the name of “Employee Self Service” (ESS). At the same day , previous e-HR system (i.e. Benq system) will be officially discontinued to use. All of the leave/OT application will be accepted via the new system with immediate effect. The test data via the ESS before this email will be cleared.

With 2 years’ efforts and great support from related units, we now introduce the new system to all staff. The main function of new e-HR system includes both web client (intranet only) and mobile terminal (internet and intranet) that can allow UIC staff to login on his/her smart phones or computers at the same time. Please see the attached user guide for details.

To better assist UIC staff in his/her use of the new system, HR Office enlisted support from Contact Persons of each unit and had organized related training to them last week. We understand that there might be some teething problems at the beginning of this operation. Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask contact person of your unit (see the attached list) or contact Ms. Carrie Wang of HR Office at 8972.

There will be a 2nd phase for the development of the system that will introduce more online procedures for your use to improve our working efficiency and effectiveness. More details will be released in due course.
