Policy on Outstanding Performance Awards

1. AIMS

1.1 To recognize and reward the outstanding performance and achievement of individual UIC staff member in one of the following areas:
(i) Teaching
(ii) Service; or
(iii) Research.

1.2 To signify the College’s commitment to recognizing and promoting excellence in (i) Teaching, (ii) Service; and (iii) Research.

2. AREAS/NUMBER OF AWARDS

2.1 President’s Award for TEACHING: To be awarded annually with a maximum of two awardees.

2.2 President’s Award for SERVICE: To be awarded annually with one awardee for academic staff and one for administrative staff.

2.3 President’s Award for RESEARCH: To be awarded biennially with a maximum of one awardee.

3. ELIGIBILITY

All full-time staff members who have at least two years of full-time service at the College are eligible for nomination to the Selection Panel, except for those who have one of the improper behaviors listed in Appendix 2.
